Senior Accountant – Full-time Permanent Role

About the Opportunity

  • Hybrid role with mix of accounting and tax
  • Conducts record keeping and maintaining the general ledger for a private group of companies and individuals
  • Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of accounting results for the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes
  • Prepares and reviews monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare investment schedules and reconciliations
  • Prepare audit working papers; liaise as required with external auditors
  • Assistance in monitoring the various real estate holdings results
  • Assist with filing of Canadian tax returns (corporations, trusts, partnerships and individuals)
  • Solid organizational skills, including the ability to effectively plan, prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Assist on special projects

About You

  • At least Five years of relevant accounting and tax experience
  • Completed/enrolled in CPA program
  • Must have hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Tax Prep
  • Must have advanced knowledge of MS Office, including strong skills in Excel
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting standards, real estate and investment management industry
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with private company accounting or has worked with a family office is an asset
  • Strong project management skills, ability to work independently and multi-task
